ART  OF HER RETREAT

WILD. CREATIVE. ALIVE.

Greater Kruger, South Africa · October 1–6, 2026

Reclaim your wildness.
Reawaken your expression.
Create from soul.

You want space.

Not more to do or another place to be. Space.

Space where nobody needs you. Where the responsibilities of home stay home. Where your days are built around wonder, awe, and aliveness.

Space for magic.

Space to write and make art in ways you never have. To express, play, move, and breathe like you haven't before. To be in your body. To be in nature. To want things again.

Space for miracles.

And here's what happens when a woman finally gets that kind of space. The patterns that have been keeping her safe begin to loosen. Unravel. And with each day, more of her comes into the light to be seen and celebrated.

Space for you.

This is less an escape than a homecoming.

Sashwa River of Stars · Greater Kruger, South Africa

where we gather

Tucked along the Olifants River in the Greater Kruger Biosphere, with no fences between the lodge and 2.5 million hectares of protected wilderness. Elephants walk through. Stars stretch across the whole sky. The lodge is elegant the way only wild places are.

A riverfront yoga deck. A circular meditation room built for stillness. An infrared sauna, a saltwater pool, and an outdoor star bath where you can soak under the Milky Way. Our creative studio opens to the bush, so even the art-making happens with the wild in view.

The food deserves its own sentence. Plant-based, garden-to-table, and described by lodge guests as some of the best they've eaten anywhere. Every plate arrives like a small work of art. Come hungry.

And this part matters. Sashwa was born from Koru Camp, a community initiative that brings local children into the bush, many seeing their first elephant. Every retreat held here funds that work. Your stay gives back to the land and the community holding you.

You're the...

You're the one people come to for comfort, for advice, for vision.

You've been building, nurturing, supporting, and showing up.

Everyone gets a piece of you. This is where you get yourself back.

A retreat for the woman behind the work.
The art of her.

It's your turn to be held.

I see you.

the creative work

This is a creative retreat in the wild. Let me be specific.

Every day at Sashwa, you'll move, breathe,  explore the wild land, and have a brush, a pen, or a pair of scissors in your hands.

Daily Safari Drives & Wilderness Walks

Big Five territory, experienced guides, and a front-row seat to the river where animals come to drink at dawn. The wild as your daily teacher.

Paint, collage, ink, and words in one book, so the things you can't say out loud yet have somewhere true to land. No art experience needed. By day three, the pages start talking back.

Visual journaling

Over our six days, you'll create your own deck. Your images, your words, your knowing. You go home with something you made with your own hands that speaks in your voice, so the guidance you find in the wild keeps finding you at home.

Oracle card making

Woven through it all, so what you make on the page actually lands in your body and follows you home.

Hypnotherapy, somatic breathwork, yoga & circle work

—Marissa

"I didn't realize how much I needed the retreat until I got there. I left feeling lighter, stronger, and full of creative energy I hadn't felt in years."

Most retreats promise you'll find yourself. This one works differently. You're not searching for anything. You're coming back into contact with what you already carry: your wild, your wisdom, your creative power. We use art, nature, and subconscious work to bypass the part of you that controls, manages, and edits, so the truth can come through.

How it works

You cannot intellectualize a lion. You cannot manage a sunset. Being near something that answers to no one's schedule reminds your body what it feels like to just be.

02

The Wild as
Your Mirror

You spend your life holding space. Here, you put it down. You're held here. By me, by the sisterhood, by the land. And something opens that couldn't open any other way.

03

Being Held So
You Can Open

Writing, painting, journaling, card making. Creativity moves faster than the part of you that manages and edits. It lets your deeper knowing speak first.

01

Creative Expression
as a Portal

You leave tuned back into your own signal. It changes how you lead, love, create, and decide. This is what coming back to yourself looks like.

04

Returning Recalibrated

Every day has its own rhythm. Here's how one might unfold. Think of this as the sacred skeleton: intentionally spacious, intuitively guided, and always open to what the wild wants to offer.

Sample daily flow

"The biggest shift I walked away with was a deep sense of permission. I no longer feel blocked or tangled in self-doubt. Instead of pushing, I feel a grounded spaciousness to bring my ideas to life. This energy feels like home — like I finally returned to the woman I was always meant to be."

A recalibration. A remembering. A return.

You know how much writing, movement, nature, and creating make you feel like yourself. But life keeps filling up, and it keeps getting pushed to the back.

You’re the one people come to. The coach, the healer, the entrepreneur, the mama, the leader, the one holding space. You know how to pour into others, and you know this is how you pour back into yourself.

You've done the inner work. You're not starting from scratch. You're standing at a threshold, sensing something bigger wanting to come through, and you need space for it to land.

You can see her clearly. The ignited, fully expressed version of you. Your creativity, your knowing, your full expression. You're ready to live as her all the time.

You feel the pull to go deeper, into your intuition, your creativity, your feminine energy, your connection to something larger than your to-do list. And you know that pull is worth following.

This retreat is for the woman who feels the creative pull and is ready to follow it.

What guests say
about Sashwa

Come to South Africa with me and let's make magic.

hey love,

I've been leading retreats for over two decades. Bali, Thailand, the Maldives, Spain, Hong Kong, California, Mexico. Hundreds of women. And South Africa has been calling me back for sixteen years.

The last time I was there was 2010, volunteering with children who had lost their parents to AIDS. When I left, I cried the whole way home. And I knew, the way you know things in your body before your mind catches up, that one day I'd return to that land to lead a retreat. It took longer than I expected. I've learned to trust divine timing.

Here's what I know after 24 years of this work. The woman who comes to my retreats is soulful. She's built things. She holds everyone. And what she needs is six days where she is the one being held, with wild land as her backdrop and a paintbrush in her hand, so the woman underneath all that capability can finally slow down and open to her own wild wisdom.

This is soul-led work in a wild place. Every creative evolution moves through a cycle I've watched hundreds of times: something opens, something clears, something new gets tended until it's ready to be lived. Six days in the wild is one full turn of that cycle. You'll feel it happen.

xo Claudia

Six days in the African wilderness where anything feels possible, beauty stops you in your tracks, evenings end under a sky so full of stars it puts things into perspective, and you remember what it feels like to be fully WILD. CREATIVE. ALIVE.

You've made it this far...

Maybe your heart is doing that little pitter-patter. Maybe you’re just leaning in a little closer. Maybe it’s a full-body knowing that you’re meant to be here. Either way,  that’s worth listening to.

Spaces are limited, and early-bird rates close on July 31. A $950 deposit is all it takes to hold your space and lock in your rate. From there, we’ll set up a payment plan that feels right for you, or you can pay in full. Either way, I’ll be in touch personally once your application is in.
